Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)

Are you currently in education and planning for the future?

What is Careers Advice?

CEIAG refers to the range of support to help an individual develop their knowledge, understanding and skills to make informed choices about their future or next steps. This happens in a variety of ways including assemblies, workshops, talks, skills sessions, one to one advice, employer visits/engagement, work experience, mock interviews, careers fairs and events.

When should I get it?

There is a legal requirement for all education settings to provide independent careers guidance to all 12 to 18 year olds and students aged up to 25 with an education, health and care plan. Each school or college will decide how they will offer careers, this could be an external company or a qualified member of staff.

Where should I get it?

Information on the embedded careers plan or careers lead for the school or college should be published on their website. CEIAG should be impartial, informative, and best meet the needs of the student.

If you would like to know more about what your Halton school or college offer related to careers, please find below links to career’s plans.
